ViewPiece is an emerging computational Earth-observation company. The scientific questions come first; institutional engagements are a route to define and evaluate a bounded study where a real research fit exists.
From question to written scope
A first discussion can establish the decision or research question, geographic and temporal scope, candidate observations, relevant data rights, validation needs and expected users. If the problem is answerable and the required evidence can be assembled, responsibilities, method, outputs, resources and timing are agreed in writing before work begins.
The pathways below describe possible structures for that discussion. They are not a fixed catalogue, guarantee of availability or claim of completed project results. Some questions will not be suitable for satellite observation.
Possible institutional pathways
Scientific feasibility assessment
Test whether the question can be answered. Define the observational question, review candidate data and methods, and identify the main technical dependencies.
Possible output: a feasibility note setting out assumptions, gaps, validation needs and a recommended next decision.
Observation & data assessment
Understand what the available record contains. Review source missions, rights, acquisition dates, coverage, resolution, metadata and processing level against the intended study.
Possible output: a data inventory and readiness assessment, with constraints and further information required.
Computational research engagement
Develop and evaluate a bounded method. Agree an experiment around a processing, reconstruction or fusion question, including a baseline and an evidence plan.
Possible output: a documented method, reproducible experimental record and findings within the agreed scope.
Institutional validation programme
Set an independent standard for evaluation. Define reference observations, metrics, test conditions, uncertainty reporting, exclusions and failure cases before testing.
Possible output: a validation protocol and an evidence report; performance claims are made only where testing supports them.
Analytical platform integration
Assess requirements before implementation. Map data flow, interoperability, governance, access, human review and operational constraints for a potential integration.
Possible output: a requirements and integration brief. No platform or certified security capability is currently offered through this site.
Long-horizon research partnership
Structure a substantial shared question. Explore research aims, responsibilities, data rights, governance, milestones, publication principles and resourcing with the institution.
Possible output: a jointly developed research plan for consideration by the participating organisations.
All engagement pathways are subject to fit, data rights, agreed scope and available resources. No fixed fees, timelines or performance outcomes are implied.
